From Lent to Easter

Here at MSA, almost all of our collective energy has been going into The New Conspirators conference (which happened last weekend). There were a million tiny details that needed to be sorted out, or, more pessimistically, a million potential mistakes that could have been made. And in concentrating on those details, I at least was finding it very easy to miss out on the important season of Lent that the Church celebrates every year in spring.
This issue of the Seed Sampler is devoted to helping you (and me) find fresh perspective on Lent and Easter. The lead article by Denny Sellen outlines the celebrations and themed Sundays of the Orthodox Christian Church during Lent. The reflection, I am a Wasteland by Lindsay Lackey, is written from the perspective of the desert where Jesus was tempted. You may have to read it through two or three times to grasp its full meaning. And finally, in a story from Africa, a woman named Wanjiku asks God why her family had to die.
We hope that these reflections, along with reflections and a liturgy by Christine Sine, help you to live into Lent this year – The Joy of Easter Sunday
