Call for Stories!
The next issue of the Seed Sampler is about the Majority Future and Reconciliation. I’m interested in collecting a few stories of how cultural diversity is celebrated in the church. It could be on a group level, like that church in southern California that celebrates the gifts of each ethnic group in the multicultural congregation as essential to its life and vitality, or on an individual level, like, for example, something you’ve learned from a cross-cultural relationship or a way your faith has grown through certain interactions.
The point of the issue is going to be that the church has to play a leading role in reconciliation because soon, if not already, the white Europeans that have long dominated the leadership of the Western church are going to be just another minority. Christians need to start thinking in terms of branching out, in theory and in practice, to begin to make real the vision of our multicultural future in God’s kingdom.
So send me some stories of where this is already happening at mail@msainfo.org. Please keep it between 500 and 1000 words and send along a picture and maybe a two-sentence bio.
Thanks,
Judy (Seed Sampler coordinator)
