Shonnie Scott is currently completing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation at George Fox Evangelical Seminary. Shonnie believes that the Holy Spirit has a unique “mustard seed appointment” for each Christ-follower in two arenas: 1) a charism-based ministry inside the Body of Christ (Church ministry), and 2) a Holy Spirit commissioned place to make Christ visible in the world (Kingdom ministry). Shonnie’s passion is to mobilize Christ-followers into their Holy-Spirit-given Church and Kingdom ministry appointments.
Coe Hutchison just graduated from seminary, completed his pastoral internship, and is now seeking a call in the Lutheran church in northwest Washington. Of course, this makes life exciting. But the best news of all is that he continues to put it all in God’s hands and trust that the Spirit will get him where he need to go. He writes, “Just back from an excellent MSA Celtic Prayer Retreat. The weather was perfect and we spent some excellent time in prayer, worship and reflection. What a blessing to have these kinds of opportunities. There is growing excitement about development of a Celtic Retreat Center and the attendees at the retreat received an update on the plans. This opportunity has been in the dreaming stage for years and it is exciting to see some of the dreams begin to take shape. Blessings to all of you and thanks for your support of Mustard Seed Associates!”
Jill Young‘s last two years have been filled with the joys, graces, and challenges of major life-transitions. In May 2008, she graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary with an MDiv About a year ago, they moved to Elysburg, Pennsylvania, where Matthew received a pastoral call, and they had their first child, Grace Elizabeth, on Sept 19, 2008. While currently focusing on motherhood, Jill plans to enter a certification program in spiritual direction sometime in the next few years. She writes, “I very much enjoy my continued connection with MSA through service on the MSA Board long distance (via skype and visits to the NW to see my family in Auburn, WA). Visits to WA have been especially important because of my mother’s recent diagonsis of advanced bladder cancer. Please keep her in your prayers.”
